Child Abuse Survivor Monument Participants
We Want to Hear From You
Thank you for participating in the workshops to collaborate on making sculpted quilt squares for a child abuse memorial/monument and to join in the writing exercises during the workshops.
Your collaborative sculpted quilt squares adorns one of the “Reaching Out” Child Abuse Monument figures. Participant quilt squares and writing
are present through out the “Reaching Out Series” Child Abuse Monument Web Sites.
If you go to the Quilt Square Collection web page you will find all of the quilt squares created in the workshops. If you click on your quilt square
a web page will come up that will show you quilt square in cast paper and in bronze on one of the monument figures. There are also lists of your accompanying
poems; stories, journals or thoughts you may have submitted; web pages that your quilt squares, images or writings are found on.
If you have any other journaling, writings, poetry or stories related to your quilt square or the monument please e-mail them to Dr. Irving at mci@irvingstudios.com.
When practical we will try to find a place to enter them within our large web site. Also write us supportive comments or endorsements that would be appropriate for the Reaching Out Series web sites. When you e-mail
us poetry or writings send them as attachments in Microsoft Word Documents if possible.
Most importantly we want to keep participants up to date on our events, displays of a monument figure, art exhibitions of the “Reaching Out”
Collection, media and press, eventual monument unveiling and other activities. E-mail us at mci@irvingstudios.com with your name, quilt square number of the Quilt Square
Collection page and updated contact mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.
One figure is fully cast in bronze and the second figure is ¾'s completed. With funding it will take about a year to complete the bronze casting and detailing of the second figure. If you visit the "Where is the "Monument This Month" web page you can come to visit the bronze figure. It really is a remarkable experience to stand in front of the completed bronze figure.
