Book II: Embrace My Innocence
Chapter IV: Forgiveness

Boundaries

I never left you. You left me.

I am not hard and cold.
You are a hard cold.
I am not sad, mad, scared.
You are sad, mad, scared.

I am not hungry, lonely and tired.
You are hungry, lonely, and tired.

I don’t smoke, do drugs or drink alcohol.
You smoke, take drugs, and drink alcohol.

I give back all these things
Back to you things that are not mine.

But the good news is
Because I am not a child,
I will love you always.

Because I am a child,
Healing will come
To all who shall see me.

Because I am a child,
I will keep reaching out
To get all of you back.
