Book II: Embrace My Innocence
Chapter V: Looking up to Rainbows and Star Light Skies

What If

What if I put the color of the rainbow
On my face?
Can it make me feel pretty?

What if I chose the style
Of clothing I wear?
Will it help me fit in?

What if I had a man or boyfriend
For one night?
Will he make me feel happy?

What if I pulled a trick on John?
Will it help me survive
Another day?

What if I had a baby
Inside my womb?
Will it take away the pain
And the loneliness?

What if I told myself
Everything will be alright?
And today I will see
Another sunrise and smile
And to know
there is someone who cares
And to know
You and myself are never alone.

No longer living in self doubt and shame.
