What If
What if I put the color of the rainbow
On my face?
Can it make me feel pretty?What if I chose the style
Of clothing I wear?
Will it help me fit in?What if I had a man or boyfriend
For one night?
Will he make me feel happy?What if I pulled a trick on John?
Will it help me survive
Another day?What if I had a baby
Inside my womb?
Will it take away the pain
And the loneliness?What if I told myself
Everything will be alright?
And today I will see
Another sunrise and smile
And to know
there is someone who cares
And to know
You and myself are never alone.No longer living in self doubt and shame.
