Book III: To Break the Silence
Chapter V: Old Freedom Found
|
Shelter Me
The safety and shelter of many trees
used to be a place of freedom for me.
Now the tree branches symbolize
change, growth and stretching to new goals.
The roots depict both the hidden and exposed
search for inner truth and nourishment
received from verbalizing the unspoken
that was necessary to provide the strength to ground me.
Energy in the sap released hope, joy, creativity
and the fluidness of spirit.
The sight of a mature tree reminds me to trust
in the nurturing, caring, sharing and love
I have newly realized and enjoy
the freedom of just being me.
