I welcome commissions for furniture and design accents for home or office. These works are approached as art or to be part of a private or corporate collection and as such are priced accordingly.

As a designer I enjoy exploring new dimensions to design while also examining various aspects of the roots of furniture and object design, tools, materials and processes. Designing balances a journey of moving into the future and into the past.

Living accents, like a fine vase, can bridge the design realms of function and art, resulting in pieces that can stand alone as art and simutaniously fill utilitarian roles.

For many years I have been impassioned with furniture design that is the integration of a sculptural theme, fine craftsmanship and a variety of materials with functional objects. Here the medicine chest embraces the central presence of water in a bathroom. The mermaid and water plants on the door are accented by sea horse hinges and a seashell handle.

The design challenge of fitting the furniture carcass to the form of the French door rather than the traditional reverse was met with a 1-½ inch lamination of 47 separate external frame pieces. When the cabinet is opened the viewer is caught by the further surprise of the bright Ozark cedar and vibrant walnut lining the inside of the chest.

Breakfast in bed is a time of greeting a new day through sharing food, conversation and perhaps coffee and morning paper reading. This cherry wood serving tray reflects the subtle forms of Brancussi's embracing stone figures in “The Kiss”.

This walnut honey jar and rosewood spoon juxtaposes classical carved turnings with modern abstract form that in itself contrasts a graceful sweeping curve of the legs with the layered organic form of the bowl and lid.

A series of reclined torso jewelry boxes took advantage of the characteristics of the grain of the outside curve of the board to enhance the silhouettes of the buttocks and shoulder blades. These torsos moved the functional object design near to the realm of purely sculptural form.
