Dr. Irving will be collaborating with child abuse survivors across America to assist him with sculpting the quilt squares for The "Reaching Out: America" Child Abuse Monument. This Child Abuse Monument can be an extraordinary force assisting with prevention of child abuse.

A large space inside the Monument figures allow for the placement of paper hand outlines and messages donated by people from across Canada. People are asked to draw an outline of their hand on a piece of paper (8.5 inches by 11 inches) and write a message on or around the hand outline.

The HandPrints of the "Give Kids a Hand" campaign to create a "National Visualization of Our Intention to Protect Children".

Dr. Irving and Janice Caine-Brewster are asking people across Canada to draw an outline of their hand on a piece of paper and just sign their initials or write a message.

When both monument figures are done we will place all of the "Give Kids a Hand" papers inside the two monument figures. Their energy and messages will serve for centuries as a national visualization representing our intention to protect children.

Instructions and directions for the "Give Kids a Hand" Visualization can be found directly below:

Children across Canada gave Dr. Irving outlines of hands with messages for Canada's collective visualization of intention to protect children.

American children and grown ups are joining Janice Caine-Brewster in collecting HandPrints for the "Reaching Out: America" National Visualization to Protect Children.

HandPrint Visualizations

The "Hands" of the "Give Kids a Hand" Vision are a simple outline of a hand with an initial or name. If you want you can include a message or images. They serve as a written visualization of our intention to protect children. As an extraordinary collective coming together of positive visualizations inside the "Reaching Out" Monument the Hands will be a force for change today and tomorrow.

Children of Stanza Bopape Create Positive Visualizations to Assist with Ending Child Abuse in America

Through the efforts of Janice Caine-Brewster Reaching Out America sponsored the planting of the 20 African Olive trees and 20 bags of compost at the Stanza Bopape Community Development Center in the Stanza Bopape informal settlement in Mamelodi. They were planted, by WTTL (Walking Towards Light: Healing from sexual abuse).

The 48 children who were present represent the hundred and three children who attend the Drop-In Center there each day. After the tree planting, the children outlined their hands on pieces of paper and decorated their pictures to create HandPrints for placement inside the "Reaching Out: America" Child Abuse Monument. The trees will help to improve the children's physical environment and eventually give them shade. "Reaching Out: America" gratefully thanks the children and staff in Stanza Bopape and Janice Caine-Brewster who made this all possible.
